Cette étude a démontré que les méthodes de mesure du rapport signal sur bruit basées sur l’approche de deux régions SNR(3) ou SNR(4) déterminent le bruit dans des régions de peu ou pas de signal produisent des statistiques de bruit qui conduisent à des valeurs de du rapport signal sur bruit inexactes.
L'une de ces mesures inexactes est actuellement recommandée par ACR (American College of Radiology) pour la mesure du rapport signal sur bruit. Les résultats suggèrent également que la méthode basée sur des images double acquisition, ou la méthode de soustraction d'image, offre l'approche la plus précise et directe de la détermination du rapport signal sur bruit actuellement disponible.
Actuellement, il est recommandé que la méthode basée sur des images double acquisition soit mise en oeuvre lorsque des mesures du rapport signal sur bruit sont nécessaires pour des images in vivo et dans des systèmes d'IRM fournissant des canaux multiples et des algorithmes de reconstruction compliqués, tels que imagerie parallèle.
Les recherches futures devraient viser à améliorées les méthodes de mesure du rapport signal sur bruit peuvent être identifiées pour une utilisation la imagerie parallèle ou d'autres méthodes d'acquisition d'IRM à échantillonnage réduit sont utilisées.Note de contenu :
