Water pollutionRésumé : This study aims to valorize chicken bones as an adsorption material for paracetamol in aqueous solutions, with the purpose of water treatment applications. The results show that chicken bones have a significant capacity for paracetamol adsorption. The first part of this study involved extracting raw hydroxyapatite powder from chicken bones, with a portion of the powder being calcined at three different temperatures to obtain calcined hydroxyapatite powder. Subsequently, a portion of this adsorbent powder underwent chemical activation with ZnCl2. In the second part, an adsorption study of paracetamol on the three powders (raw, calcined, and activated) was conducted. The results indicate that chicken bones have a significant capacity for paracetamol adsorption. The adsorption is rapid initially, and the amount adsorbed increases with the initial concentration of paracetamol, but decreases beyond a certain concentration. The observed adsorption model follows Freundlich-type behavior, suggesting a variation in affinity depending on the concentration.
