communément appelés "tight", mettant en évidence leur potentiel pétrolier ainsi que
l'importance de la fracturation hydraulique pour ce type de réservoir.
Les réservoirs compacts présentent des caractéristiques pétrophysiques médiocres, mais ils
démontrent un potentiel pétrolier prometteur. L'interprétation pétrophysique permet de mieux
comprendre ces réservoirs et de déterminer leur potentiel de production.
Cependant, en raison de leurs propriétés particulières, les réservoirs compacts nécessitent
souvent des techniques de stimulation pour être économiquement exploités. La fracturation
hydraulique joue un rôle essentiel dans l'amélioration de la production d'hydrocarbures de ces
