L'informatique prend enfin une place à part entière dans les programmes des Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles.
Ce cours couvre le programme des deux années de préparation qui est le même pour les filières : MPSI, PCSI, PTSI, TSI 1 et MP, PC, PSI, PTSI et TSI 2. Il est, pour l'essentiel, articulé autour de deux axes :
l'informatique générale : algorithmique, preuves et complexité des programmes, représentation et traitement des données ;
le calcul numérique où, tout en restant à un niveau très rudimentaire on peut montrer, dans des configurations simples, comment on résout les principaux problèmes issus des domaines scientifiques et techniques.
Conformément au programme, le support de ce cours est Python, langage de programmation simple d'utilisation rendu puissant grâce à sa bibliothèque très fournie.
Le calcul numérique est développé avec les modules numpy et scipy de Python ainsi qu'avec Scilab logiciel open source de calcul numérique.

L'informatique quantique a pour objet de mémoriser et de traiter l'information en faisant appel aux déconcertantes et contre-intuitives propriétés des systèmes quantiques. Accoler l'adjectif "quantique" au mot "ordinateur" est l'idée surprenante de physiciens qui voulaient comprendre comment le flou quantique affecterait le bon fonctionnement des ordinateurs atteints d'une miniaturisation ultime en nanoélectronique. Pour ce faire, ils imaginèrent que les composants de base se réduiraient jusqu'à des particules tels les électrons ou les photons. Il leur est apparu que les ordinateurs sous régime quantique ne se révèlent pas plus imprécis que les ordinateurs conventionnels à dépense d'énergie égale. Non seulement ils fonctionneraient aussi bien, mais ils le feraient incomparablement mieux pour traiter certains problèmes comme celui de la factorisation des très grands nombres dont l'algorithme approprié ne peut être exécuté que sur un ordinateur quantique.
La puissance de calcul de l'ordinateur quantique tient au fait que l'information quantique croît exponentiellement avec le nombre de bits quantiques qu'un registre contient, ce qui conduit à une quantité d'informations fabuleuse puisqu'un registre d'une capacité de 500 bits quantiques contient plus d'informations que n'en contiennent les atomes de tout l'Univers. Celui-ci se présente ainsi comme l'ordinateur quantique ultime. Cependant il y a des ombres au tableau. Par exemple, lire une information quantique, c'est la détruire, et la copier n'est pas toujours possible. On ne peut pas, en principe, la transmettre en codant un signal lumineux, mais on peut faire voyager un état quantique à la vitesse de la lumière, par téléportation. C'est un pas vers la fiction de Star Trek. Reste le grand obstacle de l'instabilité des systèmes quantiques.
L'auteur de ce livre présente les quelques indispensables de la mécanique quantique pour contourner tous ces obstacles et comprendre les fondements de l'informatique quantique. Il le fait en s'appuyant sur des exemples d'algorithmes quantiques et en donnant description de trois dispositifs imaginés pour réaliser un ordinateur quantique.Note de contenu :
