Afin de répondre à ce problème, il est nécessaire de se baser sur les points suivants :
Le calcul est basé sur l’amplitude de transition qui a été exprimée d’abord sous la forme
standard ∫D(path)exp(i/ℏ)S(path); telle que formulée par Feynman, où S= �????????� est
l’action qui décrit le système .
Remplacer σ par un vecteur unitaire n orienté selon (θ, ????).
Calculer R (p, T) en utilisant la définition de la limite de la sommation des séries

Dans cet ouvrage les auteurs proposent une forme améliorée de l'équation d'onde de l'électron, qui est étendu à tous les fermions (leptons, quarks) et anti-fermions. Cette équation d'onde est invariante relativiste et invariante de jauge pour tous les bosons du modèle standard. Elle comporte un terme non linéaire de masse compatible avec la densité lagrangienne. Ces médiateurs sont les y, W +, W -, Z ainsi que huit gluons. La gravitation est par ailleurs analysée dans l'ouvrage dans sa formulation classique et relativiste. Enfin le mécanisme dit de Englert-Brout-Higgs prévoit des particules de spin zéro, correspondant à un champ scalaire qui est supposé donner une masse aux quarks, leptons et aux bosons vecteurs intermédiaires W +, W -, Z.
Nous décrivons ce mécanisme et les expériences du CERN qui ont permis d'observer, selon les résultats communiqués en juillet 2012, une particule dont les caractéristiques sont compatibles avec celles du boson de Higgs. Enfin, nous indiquons les limitations du Modèle Standard et disons quelques mots des théories de Supersymétrie et de Grande Unification.
