learning methods, such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). GANs offer an intelligent
way to construct a generative model by framing the problem as a supervised learning problem
with two sub-models: the generator model, which is trained to generate new examples, and
the discriminator model, which tries to classify examples as real (from the domain) or fake
(generated). Both models are trained together in a zero-sum game until the discriminator model
is fooled approximately half the time, indicating that the generator model is generating plausible
examples.
During this process, several hyper-parameters need to be adjusted to achieve optimal results,
such as batch size, kernel size, and number of epochs. The aim is to minimize execution time
while obtaining satisfactory performance.
In this work, we propose the application of optimization, to find an optimal adjustment for
the parameters of the generator and discriminator. This will be accomplished through manual
adjustment as well as the utilization of metaheuristics. The results will be compared with those
of previous work. Performance tests will be conducted on the historical image dataset DIBCO
2020.
The objective is to introduce an optimization into the parameter tuning step of the generator
