We have studied a region of the nuclear chart of neutron-rich nuclei in the vicinity of doubly
magic 132Sn nucleus. The objective is to study the nuclear structure within the framework of
the shell model for two series of Tin isotopes 125-138Sn, and of Antimony isotopes127Sb, 129Sb,
131Sb and 133-136Sb.
In the framework of the shell model, we assume that the valence nucleons are distributed in
the orbits of a model space outside an inert core, and all the properties of the nucleus are
fundamentally governed by the valence nucleons. We have used two effective interactions for
nuclei with A>132, cwg and kh5082 interactions. For the other group of nuclei with A<132,
the effective interaction sn100pn has been used to obtain the energy spectra. Shell model
calculations are made using the code NushellX@MSU.
The results obtained are represented on graphs and compared with the existing experimental
data. All the interactions reproduce, in general, in a reliable way the experimental
spectroscopic structure for the majority of the nuclei studied.
Sn100pn interaction gives good results for nuclei of the first region with A<132.cwg
interaction is better for the second region A>132, and the obtained resultsare the closest to the
