(279 p.) Format : 24cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-387-53833-4 Note générale : 978-0-387-53833-4 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Physique Mots-clés : physique Index. décimale : 530 Physique Résumé :
Statistical Physics II introduces nonequilibrium theories of statistical mechanics from the viewpoint of the fluctuation-dissipation theorem. Emphasis is placed on relaxation from nonequilibrium to equilibrium states, the response of a system to an external disturbance, and general problems involved in deriving a macroscopic physical process from more basic underlying processes. Fundamental concepts and methods are stressed, rather than the numerous individual applicationsNote de contenu :

Titre : Statistical physics of particles Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Kardar, Mehran Mention d'édition : 1 ed Editeur : Cambridge : Cambridge university press Année de publication : 2007 Importance : 1 vol. (320 p.) Format : 24cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-521-87342-0 Note générale : 978-0-521-87342-0 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Physique Mots-clés : physique Index. décimale : 530 Physique Résumé :
Statistical physics has its origins in attempts to describe the thermal properties of matter in terms of its constituent particles, and has played a fundamental role in the development of quantum mechanics. Based on lectures taught by Professor Kardar at MIT, this textbook introduces the central concepts and tools of statistical physics. It contains a chapter on probability and related issues such as the central limit theorem and information theory, and covers interacting particles, with an extensive description of the van der Waals equation and its derivation by mean field approximation. It also contains an integrated set of problems, with solutions to selected problems at the end of the book and a complete set of solutions is available to lecturers on a password protected website at www.cambridge.org/9780521873420. A companion volume, Statistical Physics of Fields, discusses non-mean field aspects of scaling and critical phenomena, through the perspective of renormalization groupCôte titre : Fs/14236-14237 Statistical physics of particles [texte imprimé] / Kardar, Mehran . - 1 ed . - Cambridge : Cambridge university press, 2007 . - 1 vol. Titre : String theory and particle physics : An introduction to string phenomenology Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : báñez, Luis E. Editeur : Cambridge : Cambridge university press Année de publication : 2012 Importance : 1 vol. (672 p.) Format : 24cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-521-51752-2 Note générale : 978-0-521-51752-2 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Physique Mots-clés : physique
Particle PhysicsIndex. décimale : 530 Physique Résumé :
String theory is one of the most active branches of theoretical physics and has the potential to provide a unified description of all known particles and interactions. This book is a systematic introduction to the subject, focused on the detailed description of how string theory is connected to the real world of particle physics. Aimed at graduate students and researchers working in high energy physics, it provides explicit models of physics beyond the Standard Model. No prior knowledge of string theory is required as all necessary material is provided in the introductory chapters. The book provides particle phenomenologists with the information needed to understand string theory model building and describes in detail several alternative approaches to model building, such as heterotic string compactifications, intersecting D-brane models, D-branes at singularities and F-theory.Côte titre : Fs/14245-14246 String theory and particle physics : An introduction to string phenomenology [texte imprimé] / báñez, Luis E. . - Cambridge : Cambridge university press, 2012 .
- [S.l.] : Setif:UFA, 2020 . - 1 vol (59 f .) ; 29 cm.
