La thermodynamique est la science des échanges d'énergie et de l'évolution des systèmes. La vocation de cet ouvrage est de présenter la thermodynamique dans une approche résolument macroscopique, avec notamment une ouverture marquée vers la mécanique.
Les principes fondamentaux sont construits en faisant fortement appel à la manière dont ils ont historiquement été introduits et où les points délicats sont discutés en détail.
Une progression rigoureuse assortie de nombreux exercices et problèmes corrigés guide le lecteur dans la compréhension des concepts généraux qui caractérisent cette discipline et leur application.
