Résumé :
Probiotics (PBs) are living microorganisms that, when ingested in sufficient quantities, have positive health effects. Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is one of the most common metabolic disorders during pregnancy, with potential risks to maternal and fetal health. Nutritional and lifestyle behaviors have been the main focus of this disease prevention. Recently, PBs have gained interest as a promising therapeutic option to manage GDM. This study aims to explore the positive effects of probiotics on GDM by displaying the clinical trials related to optimal bacterial strains for example: Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus and saccharomyces at doses exceeding 107 starting from the second trimester of pregnancy. In conclusion, despite the recognized potential benefits of probiotics to regulate gut microbiota, improve glucose metabolism and insulin-resistance, reduce the risk of GDM among pregnant women, and ameliorate feto-maternal health, further research is needed to confirm these findings in our country.Effects of probiotics on gestational diabetes mellitus [document électronique] / Dounia Ikram Gherbi,, Auteur ; Hana Messai, Auteur ; Meriem Hamoudi, Directeur de thèse . - Sétif : Faculté des Sciences de la Nature et de la Vie, 2024 . - 35 Feuilles.
