The aerial part of Lavandula officinalis been obtained by infusion and Soxhlet methods.
According to the ethnopharmacological study, our results show that Lavender is widely used in the treatment of several diseases in the region of Setif. The qualitative study showed the presence of alkaloids, polyphenols, tannins, anthraquinones, saponins, coumarins, quinones, in both extracts. In quantitative analysis, the aqueous extract presents the higher contents in flavonoids and polyphenols with a value of 148.00 ± 6.82 μg gallic acid equivalent and 7.67 ± 0.37 μg quercetin equivalent / mg dry extract, respectively. In the antioxydant activity, ethanol and aqueous extracts showed an excellent effects in the DPPH radical scavenging effect with an IC50 0.01 ± 0.14 and 0.05 ± 0.02 mg/mL. On the other hand, both extracts showed a moderate anticoagulant activity. The results obtained showed that lavender extracts have anticoagulant and antioxidant activity and are rich in secondary metabolites beneficial to health. |
