Résumé : |
This study aims to evaluate the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity of ethanolic (Eth.E), hydro-ethanolic (HEE) and aqueous (Aq.E) extracts of Ziziphus spina christi leaves. The quantitive assessment of phenolic compounds showed that Aq.E extract of this plant contains 634.155 ug GAE/mg for total polyphenols , 4.451 ug QE/mg for flavonoids and 869.77 ug CE/ mg for tannins and total polyphenolic content of ethanolic extract was 496.911 ug GAE/mg ,8.718 ug QE/g for flavonoids content and 377.6 μg CE/mg compared to hydro-ethanolic extract 409.244 ug GAE/mg for polyphenols, 6.730 ug QE/mg for flavonoids and 884.66 ug CE/mg. The antioxidant activity of Ethanolic , hydro-ethanolic and aqueous extracts was estimated in vitro by determining the activity of DPPH (2’2-diphenylpicrylhydrazyl) ,ferrous ion chelation (FIC) and peroxidase (H2O2) .The results showed that Eth .E, Aq.E and hydro-ethanolic extracts inhibited DPPH activity with IC50 values of 0.031±0.006mg/mL ,0.066±0.005 mg/mL and 0.037±0.002 mg/mL ,respectively and they chelated ferrous ion with IC50 0.082±0.04mg/mL , 0.06±0.00mg/mL and 0.23±0.00mg/mL respectively . The ethanolic ,hydro-ethanolic and aqueous extracts also showed an ability to eliminate hydrogen peroxide with IC50 values of 0.029 ±0.001mg/mL,0.037±0.001mg/mL and 0.021±0.005 mg/mL, respectively. The result of anti-inflammatory activity in vitro demonstrated that the hydro-ethanolic extract showed an ability to inhibit the egg albumin denaturation with value of 92.49 ±2.21% compared with control 57.16 ±45.63%. Moreover In vivo the hydro-ethanolic extract reduced the thickness of xylene-stimulated oedema at concentration of 200mg/kg and 400mg/kg with value of 0.074± 0.04mm and 0.09± 0.05 mm respectively compared to the control 0.39± 0.12 mm. The result of inflammation induced with xylene compared to voltaren showed that the hydro-ethanolic extract reduced the inflammation with 64.64% . |
