The spread of diabetes is one of the major health challenges facing societies worldwide, with incidence rates significantly increasing in recent decades. In Algeria, in particular, diabetes registers high numbers, indicating a worsening health situation and increasing burden on the national health system. Effective pharmacological intervention is required for the treatment of diabetes, using pharmaceutical drugs to regulate blood sugar levels and reduce its serious complications.In addition to pharmaceutical treatments, medicinal plants play a pivotal role in managing diabetes. Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated their significant benefits in improving blood sugar levels and enhancing overall patient health. This research highlights the most commonly used plants that complement medical treatments as an important option for many patients. The COVID-19 pandemic has coincided with this widespread prevalence of diabetes, adding new challenges for both patients and doctors. Research has shown that diabetic patients are more susceptible to COVID-19 complications, necessitating special attention and focused medical care to deal with this dual situation. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive survey to obtain accurate results on diabetes and its relationship with the COVID-19 pandemic, with the goal of providing data-driven recommendations to improve treatment strategies and healthcare for patients. |
