L’étude histologique de Senecio giganteus (endémique nord Afrique) et Senecio jacobaea (espèce méditerranéenne) a mis en évidence une importante diversité dans la forme et le nombre des différents tissus au niveau des racines, des tiges et des feuilles. Le dénombrement chromosomique a révélé la présence d’une tétraploïdie pour les deux espèces; Senecio giganteus à 2n= 4x= 20+ 2B et S. jacobaea à 2n= 4x= 40. L'analyse des huiles essentielles de deux espèces par CG et CG/SM a permis d'identifier 84 composés avec une variabilité interspécifique importante, dont l’abondance de l’acide gras, l’acide héxadécanoïque (17,80%) dans l’HE de S. giganteus et L’alcool, Pentanol<3 methyl> (25.70%) dans l’HE de S. jacobaea. L’activité antibacterienne des deux HE est modérée sur les souches ATCC testés, alors qu’elle est nulle sur Candidat Albicans. L’effet cytotoxique des deux huiles essentielles est faible avec un IC50 de 251µg/ml pour S. giganteus et de 265µg/ml pour S. jacobaea à la concentration 0,04%. |
